Grandview Heights Secondary Model United Nations Club

The high school Model UN club I led as elected President across Grades 9 through 12.

Grandview's MUN club is where I first started thinking seriously about who gets left out of opportunities like debate, and I built a lot of what became my instinct for accessibility into a club rather than a company. Over four years, I grew consistent membership from 10 to 60 regular student participants and collected over $3,000 in funding through scholarships, so cost was never the reason a student could not attend a conference. I launched a disabilities program to help 5 students with neurological disabilities learn debate, half of whom went on to win awards, and started an online external MUN education class outside school hours specifically for 30 students at other high schools who otherwise had no access to the activity at all. The club consistently attends 3 conferences a year, including Canada's largest youth-led MUN conference.
